OKEECHOBEE — Mayor Watford has officially proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the City of Okeechobee!
We were proud to see Martha’s House Executive Director Edna Malagon and Director of Advocacy Services Kelli Chapman accept the Proclamation on behalf of their lifesaving work in our community.
This year’s national campaign theme is "With Survivors, Always." Join us in showing support by wearing purple—the symbol of peace, courage, and survival—throughout October.
Together, we can bring awareness, support Martha's House, and stand united to end domestic abuse.
If you or someone you know needs help, Martha’s House is here for our community: 863-763-2893. You can also reach the National Domestic Violence Hotline 24/7 at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text "START" to 88788.
