At Grand Oaks of Okeechobee, our patio has always been a favorite gathering spot for residents, a place to sit in the sunshine, share stories, and enjoy a cup of coffee together. Over time, though, the outdoor furniture began to show its age. The paint had faded, the surfaces were worn, and the cheerful space that once welcomed residents started to look a little tired.
That all changed thanks to a group of talented and hardworking students from Okeechobee High School. With the guidance of teacher Steve Szentmartoni, these young volunteers took on the project of refurbishing our patio furniture, giving each piece a much-needed makeover. With steady hands and creative spirit, the students sanded, repainted, and restored the tables and chairs to look brand new again.
