Woman accused of selling Methamphetamine

Posted

OKEECHOBEE  -- On July 17, 2026, members of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), with the assistance of the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT), served a probable cause narcotics search warrant at a residence located at 11553 U.S. Highway 441 SE, Lot 2, Okeechobee, following an ongoing narcotics investigation.

The target of the investigation was Iva Jean Vandiver, 49. Evidence gathered during the investigation will show that Vandiver was selling methamphetamine from her residence.f

For months, neighbors reported ongoing drug activity at the residence, including suspected narcotics sales, drug use, excessive short-term vehicle traffic at all hours of the day and night, and frequent disturbances affecting the surrounding community.

The accompanying photographs show the devastating physical toll methamphetamine addiction can take. Taken just three years apart, they serve as a reminder that addiction destroys far more than appearance, it destroys lives, families, and futures.

Vandiver has an extensive criminal history that includes arrests for Drug Trafficking, Sale of Narcotics, Possession of Cocaine, Dealing in Stolen Property, Aggravated Assault, Fraud, Theft, Battery, Identity Theft, Driving Under the Influence, Driving While License Suspended, Failure to Appear, and Violation of Probation.

During the search warrant, investigators located methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.

Vandiver was transported to the Okeechobee County Jail, where she is charged with:

  • Sale of Methamphetamine,
  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell,
  • Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

This marks the second narcotics search warrant served at Big Water RV Park within the past six months, underscoring the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office's commitment to addressing illegal drug activity and improving the quality of life for residents living in the community.

Sheriff Noel E. Stephen stated: "The overwhelming majority of our citizens simply want to live in a safe neighborhood and raise their families without the constant problems associated with illegal drug activity. When residents report suspicious activity and work together with law enforcement, we can make a real difference. We will continue to target those who choose to sell dangerous narcotics in our community."
