OKEECHOBEE – In recognition of HCA Healthcare’s annual We Show Up for Our Communities Month, colleagues from HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital came together for a day of service focused on honoring and supporting local veterans. This year’s project, Operation Spring Clean: Veterans Edition, brought hospital colleagues into the community to complete hands-on projects benefiting veterans and veteran-centered organizations across Okeechobee.
On Friday, April 24, more than 30 colleagues volunteered a combined 130 hours at three sites throughout the community, helping preserve local landmarks, enhance nonprofit facilities, and support a veteran homeowner in need. Volunteer efforts included:Through projects like this, HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital colleagues live out the organization’s mission to care for and improve human life by extending compassion and service beyond the hospital’s walls. Volunteering during We Show Up for Our Communities Month reflects HCA Healthcare’s belief that caring for communities is closely connected to caring for patients and supporting one another as colleagues.
