WEST PALM BEACH — Join the Union Sportsmen's Alliance in helping create lasting memories for families at the first-ever South Florida Take Kids Fishing Day on March 15 in West Palm Beach, Florida. We invite you to cover this free, sold-out event as the 150 registered youths will experience a day of fishing and take home a free rod and reel.
What:
Volunteers from local labor unions will provide hands-on fishing instruction and assistance. Youths and their families will learn fishing techniques, safety and conservation. Kids and adults can enjoy a free lunch while supplies last.
When and Where:
Sunday, March 15| 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Who:
Organized by the USA, the event is part of a series of free, community-based youth outreach activities under Work Boots on the Ground—the USA’s flagship conservation program. All youths must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone.
Why:
This family-friendly event is designed to spark a lifelong passion for the outdoors in youths. As today’s outdoor enthusiasts fuel billions in retail sales and contribute millions to conservation and wildlife management through federal excise taxes, the future of our outdoor heritage depends on engaging the next generation—now.
Take Kids Fishing Day offers hands-on activities that introduce children from all backgrounds to the wonders of nature, while spotlighting the powerful connection between outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship. It helps cultivate tomorrow’s conservation leaders by giving kids a meaningful start in the great outdoors.
