The Weekly Clothesline: We are Kingdom people!

Posted

Did you know that we are Kingdom People? Kingdom People are always prepared, dressed for the occasion…the coming of the Master, at any time, in any place. and what do kingdom people look like:

Kingdom people don’t fret the small stuff…and EVERYTHING is small stuff in relation to the kingdom. Jesus says: “Don’t hold your possessions too close; your treasure is in heaven. Money, possessions, position—all those things will fade. But things of the heart will last!”

Kingdom people are servants. Jesus says: “Be dressed for action—your lamps lit—in anticipation of the Master’s coming…. Love others as I love you…do unto others, as I have done to you… Jesus tells us in many ways what it means to look like a servant.

And finally, Kingdom people have an abundance of faith. The book of Hebrews gives us the definition of such faith: Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Common sense didn’t lead Noah to build an ark in a land-locked area with no rain in sight. It was his faith that led the way! Faith understands risk. Faith understands vision, not necessarily in this life, but certainly in the life to come.

Kingdom people are servants of God who put worry aside. Kingdom people hold close to their hearts the power of faith. Kingdom people trust in God’s promises for a future filled with hope. So I ask you: Are you Kingdom people?
