“Making people better was something she would always talk about,” says the nomination for Summer Calloway.
“She worked hard to complete that dream.” — A dream that became a reality shortly after high school.
In 2016, she was in a horrible car accident that left her on a ventilator for several months with several broken bones. Her recovery has been anything but easy. While recovering, and with her ability to work limited, she went back to school to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
In 2019, she started working as an RN again for Cleveland Clinic and even took on a second job as a home health nurse.
Although her mindset has now shifted to “she knows what her patients are going through,” she still feels she was born to help others.
