Steve Allen Rogers, son of Jack and Ethel Williams Rogers, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, to be with his Heavenly Father. Steve was born May 20, 1951, in Okeechobee, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Jean Domer Rogers, and their two children, Nikki Glynn (Kevin) from Jacksonville, and Wade Rogers (Stephanie) from Fort White.
He also leaves behind a niece, Tracey Cochrane, and nephews, Gary Lightsey and Michael Lightsey. His three cherished grandchildren—Amber Rogers, Mason Glynn, and Jaylyn Rogers—brought him great pride as they excelled in showing livestock and participating in sports. Steve enjoyed spending time watching them in show rings, on ball fields, and on basketball courts across Florida.
Steve shared a close bond with his beloved group of cousins—Larry Williams, Clayton Williams, Jerry Rogers, Wayne Rogers, Laddie Williams, and Leon Williams—who were like brothers to him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Zary Ann Perry.
A graduate of Okeechobee High School in 1969, Steve earned his bachelor's degree at Florida Atlantic University. He began his career as a Special Education teacher in Okeechobee County and later spent ten years working as a State Inspector for the Feed, Seed, Fertilizer, and Pesticide Division.
Upon leaving that post, he was hired by Ben Burdeshaw at Ranch (Diamond R) Fertilizer, where he served for 35 years, advising many farmers, ranchers, and dairymen in and around Okeechobee County. In 2005, Steve and Jean moved to Gainesville and purchased Alachua County Feed and Seed. He forged many relationships with his customers and considered them friends. He took great joy in assisting his customers with their needs.
Steve was a member of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association and Florida Farm Bureau. He served as President of the Okeechobee Farm Bureau for many years. Additionally, he was a Certified Crop Advisor, Master Gardener and obtained his Florida Realtor's License. He was a member of O'Leno Baptist Church.
He loved hunting and was a devoted fan and supporter of the Florida Gators. For more than four decades, he attended Gator games with his family and friends as a University of Florida Booster. He traveled widely with family and friends to see the Gators play. He attended two national championship games and most of the SEC stadiums, building many lasting memories and stories that many will cherish and share for years to come. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, at a time and location to be announced later.
