OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee County School Board recognized retiree Tracie Mendez at their meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for her 24 years of service. Tracie worked as a teacher’s aid at Seminole Elementary, Yearling Middle School and North Elementary. Then became a teacher at Yearling. She left the Okeechobee School District for six years but returned and finished her time at Okeechobee High School.
