This month, for Special Olympics Florida Central Region Athlete Leadership Spotlight, we are highlighting a truly inspiring leader, RJ Sandefur from Okeechobee County.
RJ has been involved with Special Olympics Florida since 2010 and participates in bowling! RJ is also a part of the Central Regional Athlete Leadership Council and currently serves as the Event Planning Committee Chair for the council.
Recently, RJ had the opportunity to officially become a Global Messenger, where he learned the skills and received the training necessary to become a spokesperson for Special Olympics. This has been a goal of RJ's for a long time, and we are so happy to see him embrace the opportunity and run with it. He is a true champion for Special Olympics Florida!
RJ is an active Athlete Leader who is constantly providing new ideas and engaging in meaningful conversations at every meeting. We are so proud of him and cannot wait to see what else he accomplishes, both in and out of SOFL.
