OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) is proud to announce the return of the Okeechobee Junior Leaders Summer Camp as it welcomes its sixth cohort of students this summer. The program continues to serve as an important workforce and leadership development initiative focused on preparing local youth with valuable professional and life skills.
The Okeechobee Junior Leaders Summer Camp was created to cultivate leadership development, workforce readiness, and community awareness among middle and high school students throughout Okeechobee County. The multi-day summer program introduces students to leadership principles, communication skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and career exploration through interactive workshops, business tours, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences.Since its launch, the program has continued to grow in participation and community engagement, helping students build confidence while connecting them with local industries, employers, and civic leaders. Students also have opportunities to present community impact projects while learning directly from business and community professionals.
