OCFR celebrates swearing in of Fire Chief Justin Hazellief

Posted
Friday, March 6, marked an important milestone for Okeechobee County Fire Rescue as Chief Justin Hazellief officially took the oath as the department’s seventh fire chief. The Change of Command ceremony, held at Oakview Church, brought together firefighters, county leaders, family members, and community supporters to recognize both the legacy of service that has shaped the department and the future ahead.

During the ceremony, Chief Hazellief reaffirmed his commitment to the men and women of Okeechobee County Fire Rescue and to the residents they proudly serve. The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on the dedication, leadership, and years of service given by outgoing Chief Earl Wooten, whose impact on the department and community will not be forgotten.

Okeechobee County Fire Rescue looks forward to continuing its mission of protecting life and property while building on the strong foundation established by those who have led before. Please join us in welcoming Chief Hazellief and wishing him success as he leads the department forward.
