It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Sue Holcomb, age 68, who departed this life on January 19, 2026, in Clewiston, Florida. Born on August 14, 1957,
in Belle Glade, Florida, Karen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Cecil Holcomb; her cherished son, Brandon Holcomb; and her loving daughter, Shannon Ransom. She will also be dearly remembered by her siblings, Charles Raymond Wiseman, Kathy Johnson, and Teresa Runkles. Additionally, Karen’s legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren: Austin Holcomb, Hannah Holcomb, Haiverly Holcomb, Dayton Ransom, and Danalyn Ransom, as well as many other family members and friends whose lives she touched.
For over 36 years, Karen and Cecil shared a remarkable partnership in both love and work as they owned and operated Clewiston Towing. Her roles in the business were vital; she graciously answered calls late into the night and meticulously managed the bookkeeping during the day, ensuring the smooth operation of their family enterprise.
Beyond her professional life, Karen was known for her kind and generous spirit. Her love for family was paramount, and she found joy in traveling to the mountains and spending time at the beach, sharing those precious moments with her loved ones. Her honesty and consideration for others marked her personality, making her a trusted friend and confidante to those fortunate enough to know her.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; Charles Raymond and Billie Joyce Wiseman.
A Celebration of Life was held in her memory at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends and family gathered for visitation on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston, Florida. Following the service, burial took place in Ridgelawn Cemetery – Clewiston.
