Motorcyclist dies in U.S. 441 crash

OKEECHOBEE – A 56-year-old Okeechobee man died in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 441 on Sept. 25, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP report, a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling south on U.S. 441 approaching the intersection of SW 28th Street. A 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck hauling a trailer was turning onto SW 28th Street from south US-441. While traveling south, the motorcycle collided with the rear end of the semi-truck trailer.

The semi was driven by a 33-year-old Hialeah man.

The motorcyclist succumbed to fatal injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased at 3:38 p.m. by Okeechobee County Fire Rescue.
