![LaBelle Fire Dept. presents Hero Award to LHS student..LABELLE — On May 27, LaBelle Fire Department had the honor of presenting the Hero Award to Lazaro Alonso-Lara..Laz noticed something wasn’t right and quickly brought it to the attention of the teaching staff at LaBelle High School {LHS). A stove had accidentally been turned on with items left on top, causing them to begin catching fire. Because Laz “saw something and said something,” teachers were able to turn the stove off before the situation became hazardous. His quick thinking and willingness to speak up helped prevent what could have become a serious incident. Great job, Laz, and LHS thanks you for stepping up and saving the day!
