OKEECHOBEE — The Kiwanis Club inducted Judge William L Hendry (posthumously) and Sherri Enfinger into the Hall of Fame for their outstanding service during their 2026 Hall of Fame luncheon on March 26.
Judge Hendry was a wonderful community leader. He served as County and City Attorney, County Judge, and Circuit Judge (Chief Judge), and a life-long member of First Methodist Church. Judge Hendry was inducted by Dowling Watford, and the certificate was accepted by his daughters, Pam Butler and Dion Raulerson.
Dowling Watford, who was the honored recipient of Judge Hendry’s burial flag, spoke of his great love for the organization. And a fun side note - Judge Hendry was a member of the Methodist Church, and every year he always spoke on the trials of Jesus. Dowling joked that if he were the Judge back then, Jesus would have gotten off.
Our current member, Sherri Enfinger has served the club since 2008. She joined the board in 2010 and served as the Treasurer from 2012 to 2025.
Not only did she make sure the money was accounted for down to the penny, she also organized the annual radio auction fundraiser. Two tasks that are not for the faint of heart.
Mr. Gil Culbreth, close friend of Sherri and her husband, H.E., also spoke about how they became friends after meeting in the service department of his dealership.
He said he believes if you want to be successful, you have to surround yourself with successful people. He knew at that moment he wanted to hire her.
He says she always looks after your best interests and is a hard worker.
We are honored to induct both of these individuals into the Hall of Fame for their contributions to not only the club but also the community.
