Invest in strong beginnings

At Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition (OHSC), we talk about “healthy beginnings” quite a lot because everything that follows birth: growth and learning, depends on that early start.

Diaper costs have surged nearly 48% since the pandemic, pushing many local families to spend as much as $1,000 per child, per year, just for basic diapering. Imagine trying to save for prenatal care, birthing support, or postpartum help when that’s your starting line.

That’s why OHSC exists: to reduce infant mortality, improve maternal health, and empower all family members, including fathers, caregivers, and siblings.

In 2026, we will scale up our home visits and our Connect and G.R.O.W. Doula programs, and we need your support. Will you help us ensure that every expectant mother, every newborn, and every dad in our community gets the foundation they need?

Donate before Dec.31 to ensure your gift is tax-deductible for 2025. If you’re mailing a check, please send it so it’s postmarked by year-end.

Your generosity makes beginnings possible.
