OKEECHOBEE — “I had a bad night,” yelled the man who had been reportedly jumping in front of cars on Southeast 40th Avenue.
An Okeechobee man was arrested recently after a 911 caller said a man, who appeared to be drunk, and was jumping in front of cars. The caller said the man was a white man, dressed all in black.
A deputy located the man, who was walking away from other deputies on the scene. The man approached the deputy and yelled that he was having a bad night. As the man got closer, the deputy noted a strong smell of alcohol. The man was placed in wrist restraints and detained for his own safety. He told the deputy he was having a bad night and was just trying to walk it off. When asked if there was somewhere he would like to be dropped off, the man said no. He just wanted to take a walk to calm down. The deputy explained he could not walk there, because it was not safe.
In a second report, the deputy noted the man then began to shake his backside at him with his hands behind his back.
He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Bond was set at $150.
