Inaugural Autism Awareness Event was a huge success

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — My name is Jasmine Lattimore, and I hosted my first autism event here in Okeechobee with the help of the Found Youth Program and other vendors in surrounding counties to support our kids. I can’t forget Melinda because she helped me in so many ways to get more vendors out there and organize the event. Also, I can’t forget Kenzie because if it wasn’t for her and her help, this wouldn’t have happened. Today was bigger than just an event — it was about the kids.

Our autism event went amazingly well, and my heart is so full. This was my very first event, and it definitely will NOT be my last. Seeing the smiles, support, and community come together meant everything to me.

Thank you to every parent, child, volunteer, and supporter who showed love and helped make this day special. And yes… we made it on CBS 12 News. This is only the beginning for our autism community.

No family walks alone. So, with that being said, this autism event was presented by Okeechobee autism moms and proud autism fathers
