Hendry County School District expands employee healthcare access

Posted

LABELLE — The Hendry County School District is pleased to announce a new employee health benefit designed to make quality healthcare more convenient and accessible for the individuals who serve our students, families, and schools every day. Beginning Oct. 1, District employees will have a new, more convenient way to access healthcare close to where they live and work through two dedicated employee health clinic locations in LaBelle and Clewiston.

Beginning Oct. 1, the Hendry County School District’s new partnership with Hendry Regional will provide eligible insured employees and their families with access to healthcare services at Hendry Regional’s local clinic locations in LaBelle and Clewiston, with little to no copay for covered services. Services available through the new employee health benefit will include sick visits, wellness visits, primary care, basic laboratory services, most X-ray imaging, cardiology, pharmacy, and orthopedic care.

“In this era where healthcare is expensive and often difficult to manage, Hendry County Schools is proud to show our commitment and appreciation to our employees by providing a dedicated concierge health care clinic in Clewiston and LaBelle,” said Michael Swindle, Superintendent of Schools for Hendry County School District. “We have partnered with Hendry Regional to provide top-tier health care experiences in our hometowns. Along with our trusted partners at Hendry Regional, we are excited to offer this service that will lift the culture, health, and well-being of our employees.”

“This partnership with the Hendry County School Board comes at an ideal time,” said David Theroux, CEO, Hendry Regional Medical Center. “As we continue expanding our services across Hendry County, it is partnerships like this that strengthen our community and help build a healthier future for generations to come. We are proud to celebrate 75 years of serving Hendry County—and look forward to serving our community for the next 75.”

In LaBelle, employees can access care at the Hendry Regional Convenient Care Center, located at 450 South Main Street in LaBelle. The location is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with care provided by Valerie Worley, APRN.

In Clewiston, employees can access care at the Dr. James D. Forbes Family Care Center, located at 500 West Sagamore Avenue, Building A in Clewiston. The location is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with care provided by Dr. Nikhil Gupta, MD.

The employee health clinics are intended to provide a convenient option for employees (and their families) seeking healthcare while improving access to and coordination of care. By reducing barriers such as cost and convenience, the District hopes employees will be able to get the care they need sooner and more easily.

The new benefit will also provide employees with access to pharmacy services through Hendry Regional’s pharmacy, located at 542 West Sagamore Avenue, Building E, in Clewiston. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will offer the added convenience of prescription delivery to employees at their work locations.

The new benefit also represents another important step in the District’s ongoing efforts to support its workforce. In addition to promoting employee health and wellness, enhanced healthcare benefits can help the District retain talented employees and remain competitive when recruiting new educators and staff.

Additional information about eligibility, covered services, appointments, and how employees can take advantage of the new benefit will be shared directly with District employees.

The Hendry County School District encourages insured employees to watch for additional communications in the coming weeks with everything they need to know about taking advantage of this new benefit.
