HCSO seeking sponsors and golfers for fundraiser

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) will host the 15th annual HCSO Fallen Officers Memorial Golf Tournament (formerly the Deputy Brian Haas Memorial Golf Tournament) on Saturday, May 30, at the J. Nelson Fairbanks Clewiston Golf Course, in Clewiston. Thanks to our friends and neighbors, last year’s tournament met the scholarship fund’s annual needs.

As the 20th year of Brian’s passing has come and gone, his parents have decided to pass the scholarship foundation on to the agency for continuation, and in turn, honoring all fallen Hendry County Sheriff’s law enforcement officers, including Brian, has become the focus of the tournament. The scholarships benefit members of HCSO who are furthering their education in criminal justice.

While the wish of not having any fallen officers would be wonderful to have accomplished, sometimes things happen that take lives much sooner than expected. Having lost three officers in the line of duty is never something one would normally celebrate, however, in this instance we honor the sacrifice of each of them while doing a job they were passionate about.

If you would like to support or sponsor this worthwhile fundraiser by giving a monetary donation, in-kind donation, or by sending player to the tournament, please accept our sincerest thanks and appreciation.

Warmest Regards

HCSO, golf tournament, fund raiser, fallen officers
