Habitat for Humanity St. Lucie & Okeechobee (Habitat SLO) are so grateful for our partners at Garber Buick GMC. Their unwavering dedication to helping the community shows up time and time again. Garber and our friend, Paul Bobo, never hesitate to step up and support.

Through an amazing State program, Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP), the auto dealer is encouraged to sponsor the cost of half of a house. Through this program, the IRS issues a tax credit in the same amount as the sponsorship for the dealership to leverage against their sales tax. This is a win-win for the dealership, Habitat SLO, and the community. We could not do what we do without the tremendous support we receive from donors like Garber Buick GMC.

Affordable housing continues to be a critical matter here in Florida and across the country. Working together, we strive to not only build houses but to change the generation wealth statistics here in the state through our affordable homeownership and repair programs.

“This is an immense help to our organization. The State of Florida was very thoughtful in putting together the CCTCP program specific to Florida Habitat for Humanity affiliates and addressing the housing crisis through affordable housing opportunities,” said Marcie Bergan, Executive Director at Habitat SLO. She continued with,” I am grateful for Garber who over the years, through this program, have donated an incredible $694,450. helping to build multiple homes in St. Lucie County and changing lives in our community.”

Paul Bobo, General Manager at Garber Buick GMC chimed in with “We at Garber are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and support the important work they do throughout our community. Programs like CCTCP create a unique opportunity for businesses to make a meaningful impact while addressing one of Florida’s most critical needs: affordable housing. I encourage other business leaders to explore how they can get involved and help strengthen the communities they serve.”
