LABELLE -- Work on Forrey Park is going well according to a report shared at the Oct. 28 meeting of the Hendry County Board of Commissioners.
If everything goes as planned with the contractors, three ball fields should be completed in December.
Baseball games start in March.
Commissioners commended staff for their work on the fields.
Meetings are planned with Little League organizers at the ball fields.
Construction has not started on the concession stand, but the ball fields should be ready for play.
Commissioner Ramon Iglesias said he would like to serve on the West Rec board because his district includes Port LaBelle.
Commissioners Rowdy Howard and Mitchell Wills both said they plan to continue to serve on the West Rec board and see Forrey Park work completed. They said Iglesias is always welcome at the West Rec meetings.
