DENVER -- Former Okeechobee Brahman Mason Adams got his first start in Major League Baseball on Aug. 25 for the Colorado Rockies.
Adams struck out five batters when the Rockies faced the Nationals on Aug. 25. Adams held the Nationals to one run over four-plus innings in his major league debut. The Rockies went on to defeat the Nationals 3-1 that night.
“He was poised for his debut,” said Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer of Adams. “I thought he looked totally in control out there. He couldn’t have done it any better.”
Adams was selected by the Chicago White Sox with pick 401 in the 2022 MLB draft.
He was on the verge of making the Majors in 2025, but he injured his flexor tendon during Spring Training and had Tommy John surgery, costing him the entire season. In early August the Rockies acquired Adams in a trade with the Chicago White Sox.
