Moore Haven was the only area team to win last weekend, and the Terriers did it in a big way with a 60-6 road rout. Okeechobee nearly pulled off a dramatic comeback in a one-score Homecoming loss, Glades Central fell to one of the state's top-ranked teams, and Clewiston and Glades Day both lost by more than two touchdowns. Pahokee was idle after a Monday night win at Boynton Beach on Sept. 28.

Pahokee Blue Devils (4-2)

Pahokee did not play last weekend, but Pahokee beat Boynton Beach 40-15 on the road on Monday, Sept. 28, ending a two-game skid. The game had originally been scheduled for Sept. 18.

Eighth-grade quarterback Braylon Peterson threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Jacaris Jones. Cyril Boyce returned an interception for a touchdown, Troy Hill also had an interception, and Al'Tavious Salters scored on a punt return.

Pahokee returns from its open date to face one of the state's top-ranked teams. The Blue Devils play at Vero Beach at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The Fighting Indians (6-1), ranked 16th in Florida by MaxPreps, edged Mainland 24-22 last week and have won 15 of their last 16 home games. Vero Beach beat Pahokee 53-14 last season.

Glades Central Raiders (2-4)

Glades Central could not carry the momentum of its 60-0 district win into a matchup with one of the state's best. The Raiders lost 31-7 at home to West Boca Raton on Oct. 2, their third loss in their last four home games. The Bulls, ranked fourth in Florida by MaxPreps, improved to 5-1 and have won 12 of their last 13 games dating back to last season. Anderson Gracilien ran for 42 yards and a touchdown and added 37 receiving yards for West Boca.

Glades Central has no game this weekend. The Raiders return to action at Atlantic in Delray Beach at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, in a game originally scheduled for Sept. 18. The Eagles (3-2) lost 28-7 to Cardinal Newman last week and host Northeast on Friday. Atlantic beat Pahokee 21-17 on Sept. 10.

Okeechobee Brahmans (2-5)

Okeechobee fell 27-20 to Port St. Lucie on Oct. 2, its fifth straight loss. Elijah Gordon ran for 101 yards and a touchdown for the Brahmans. Chris Sneed completed 12 of 18 passes for 141 yards, and Armani Jenkins led the receivers with 40 yards.

Okeechobee hits the road this week to face DeSoto County in Arcadia at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The Bulldogs are 0-8 and coming off a 33-0 loss at Lake Placid, the same team that beat Okeechobee 24-6 on Sept. 25. DeSoto County has lost 17 of its last 18 games dating back to last season.

Glades Day Gators (2-6)

Glades Day could not make it two wins in a row. The Gators lost 31-15 at St. Edward's in Vero Beach on Thursday, Oct. 1, their fourth loss in five games. Pirates quarterback Nolan Ange threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns, and Triston Scent had 111 receiving yards and two scores. St. Edward's also intercepted two passes.

Glades Day returns home this week to host Parkridge Christian at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8. The Panthers (2-5), from Coral Springs, have lost four of their last five games. They scored a season high last week but lost by two points at previously winless Northeast, one week after a 46-0 loss to Somerset Prep.

Clewiston Tigers (1-6)

Clewiston's defense tightened up, but the losing streak reached three games. The Tigers fell 22-7 to Oxbridge Academy at Cane Field on Oct. 2 after allowing 84 points over their previous two games. The ThunderWolves improved to 4-3, a turnaround for a program that had lost 11 straight games before this season.

Clewiston hits the road this week to face Wellen Park in south Sarasota County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The Eagles (4-2) are coming off a 40-7 loss at Lemon Bay, the same team that beat Clewiston 49-6 on Sept. 25. Wellen Park scored 38 points in a win over Bayshore the week before.

Moore Haven Terriers (2-4)

Moore Haven snapped a three-game losing streak with the area's only win of the week. The Terriers routed Tradition Prep 60-6 in Port St. Lucie on Thursday, Oct. 1, for their first road win of the season. Moore Haven had scored 12 points combined in its previous three games.

The Terriers return home this week to host Fort Meade at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The Miners (2-5) have been shut out in back-to-back games, falling 36-0 to Bartow last week and 48-0 to Victory Christian Academy on Sept. 25. Victory Christian also beat Moore Haven 36-0 on Sept. 11.
