CLEWISTON- Clewiston High School senior William Bussott has earned a spot in the state tournament following his performance in regionals for the Tiger wrestling team. Bussott finished fourth in his weight class at the regional tournament.

Six Tigers had advanced to the regional tournament after districts. Both Bussott and Adonis Martinez earned district championships at that tournament.

William Bussott has earned first place for the Tigers at the Ray Worsham Invitational and the Titan Tussle in recent months. Last year William was awarded CHS Male Athlete of the Year during the annual CHS Athletic Banquet.

Bussott punched his ticket to the Florida High School Athletic Association state tournament last year by finishing third in his weight class. He was the second wrestler Clewiston has advanced to the state tournament in back-to-back years. Now with his latest accomplishment in regionals, the Tigers have fielded a wrestler in the state tournament in three back-to-back years.

The state tournament is scheduled for March 5-7 in Kissimmee.
