CLEWISTON — Thursday, April 16, the Clewiston Elks hosted their Annual Community Awards Celebration, bringing together local leaders, organizations, and residents to recognize the individuals who go above and beyond in service to the community.

The annual event highlights the strength and compassion of the community, honoring those who make a meaningful impact through their dedication and hard work. In total, 15 awards were presented, celebrating outstanding individuals across a variety of professions and areas of service.

Hendry Regional Medical Center was honored to be in attendance as one of its own, David Theroux, was named Healthcare Employee of the Year. His recognition stands alongside other distinguished honorees, including Firefighter, Lieutenant, Paramedic, Teacher of Hendry County, HCSO Officer & Deputy of the Year, Elk of the Year, and others.

The evening was organized and led by Exalted Ruler, Anna Alvarez, whose leadership over the past year has helped strengthen community connections and celebrate those who serve. Hendry Regional Medical Center extends its sincere appreciation for her dedication and commitment to the Clewiston community.
