WEST PALM BEACH – Palm Beach County taxpayers can see exactly how their tax money was managed, spent and invested during Fiscal Year 2025 in the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s award-winning report, Checks & Balances: Your Guide to County Finances.
The 18-page report contains easy-to-read charts that outline in plain language how taxpayer money is collected, budgeted and invested until they are needed to pay County expenses.
Among the highlights from this year’s Checks & Balances:
“Your tax dollars support core services our community relies on every day,” said Mike Caruso, C.P.A., Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Palm Beach County. “One of our most important responsibilities is making sure residents have clear, transparent information about how those dollars are used. It’s a critical layer of accountability for our local government and builds public trust in our institutions.”
Checks & Balances, which is also known as the Popular Annual Financial Report, or PAFR, is available online at www.mypalmbeachclerk.com/pafr.
This is the 20th consecutive year that the Clerk’s office has released the award-winning report.
Most of the information contained in Checks & Balances comes from the Clerk’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which includes nearly 350 pages of in-depth data about County finances, revenue and spending.
