OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee City Council and Denise Whitehead have come to an agreement on an employment contract, and Whitehead will begin serving the community as city administrator on June 13.
After making small changes, the council voted unanimously during its June 2 meeting to accept the contract presented.
Vice-mayor Monica Clark joked that every time she sees a commissioner, they are on her case. Whitehead has served as assistant county administrator for several years, and the county will have some very large shoes to fill when she leaves.
