CLEWISTON — The Clewiston High School Tiger baseball team held its annual end-of-season banquet on May 26.
Sebastian Aragus earned the Ironman Award for his effort this season, while Braylin Herrera earned the Most Improved Award. Rocco Mann earned the Utility Award for his 2026 season.
Rowan Leiba, Landon Bellew, and Hendrix Kurtz each earned the Teammate Award.
The Tigers finished with a 13-13 record this year, including a big 10-3 win over Somerset Academy in the playoffs. Jackson Mann and Braylin Herrera each had 2 RBIs in the playoff win, while Graysen Redish, J. Mann, and Sebastian Aragus each had two hits. Reddish and Aragus each hit a triple.
While the Tiger bats dominated the game, the defense held up its end of the bargain as well. Rocco Mann struck out nine batters over five innings and Clewiston held Somerset scoreless until the fifth inning.
Early in their season the Tigers varsity shut out the Glades Day Gators 10-0 in their game on March 3.
The Tigers got on the board early, putting up 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning, with Jackson Mann, Clayton Sparks, and Rocco Mann all getting RBIs. From that point on it was all Clewiston. The Tigers put up 4 runs in the second inning and another in the third.
Braylin Herrera allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings on the pitcher’s mound for the Tigers. Herrera struck out six Gators in the win. Clewiston notched eight hits against Glades Day, with Clayton Sparks, Jackson Mann, Braylin Herrera, and Rowan Leiba each hitting a double. Graysen Redish led the team with five stolen bases.
Clewiston’s season ended with a tough, hard-fought battle in the playoffs against the North Broward Prep Eagles. Both teams were tied 0-0 up until the bottom of the seventh inning, when North Broward managed to take the 1-0 lead to secure the victory.
