Every month in Palm Beach County, more than 1,000 children enter the welfare system, while more than 130 babies fight for life in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). And for those families in need, the Children’s Healing Institute is there to help break cycles of trauma, heal, and provide support and hope. The Palm Beach County nonprofit strengthens families dealing with crises through several personalized, intensive programs, including the Parent Aide Program and the TEACUP Preemie/NICU Program. But as the need for these lifesaving programs continues to increase, the organization has found their waitlists also increasing.
In an effort to meet this critical demand, the Children’s Healing Institute will launch the Raising Resilience Campaign this month. The goal of the campaign is to raise at least $300,000 in the next 3-6 months to triple the number of families served each year. The funds raised will go toward creating infrastructure and momentum that leads to lasting changes for hundreds to even thousands of local families in need.
“Palm Beach County's families are facing unprecedented challenges, but we have a proven solution," says Dr. Sandy Munoz, CEO of the Children's Healing Institute. "Our intensive, one-on-one programs have 95% success rates in strengthening families and preventing abuse. But what keeps me up at night is knowing our waitlists are growing while child maltreatment investigations continue to climb. Right now, families in crisis are waiting for services that could prevent trauma and change lives."
"The Raising Resilience Campaign changes that equation," Munoz continues. "With $300,000, we build the infrastructure to triple our impact—from 175 families to 525 families served annually. This is our community's invitation to join us in building something transformational. Together, we can ensure that no family in crisis has to wait for the help that could change everything.”
