BELLE GLADE- The Brahman offensive line along with the 1-2 punch of Ashton Mobley and Elijah Gordon helped lead Okeechobee to a 42-15 win over the Glades Day Gators on Aug. 14.
Glades Day opened the game with an onsides kick which they managed to recover. The Gators march down to the Okeechobee redzone and were threatening to score. But the Brahman defense stood strong and forced a turnover.
The Brahman offense took the ball and proceeded to march down the length of the field for a touchdown, with Mobley running it in.
The Gators managed to tie things up 7-7 with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter. But the Brahmans responded quickly to retake the lead 14-7 thanks to a Gordon touchdown run. Mobley would add another touchdown before halftime to put Okeechobee up 21-7.
The Brahman offensive line enforced their will on Glades Day in the second half. With Mobley adding two touchdowns and Gordon adding one more.
The 42-15 win makes Okeechobee 1-0 to open their season. New Brahman head coach Antwan Blatch and the Brahmans now move on to face the Suncoast Chargers next week.
