BELLE GLADE- Belle Glade native Josh Warren signed a letter of intent with North Carolina State in a ceremony on Dec. 3.
Josh grew up in Belle Glade and played high school football in Tampa, where he lived with his father Josh Warren Sr. The scholarship signing was negotiated by his financial planners at Via Vitae.
He originally committed to Citadel for the 2024 season but withdrew after an injury and pursued the junior college route. Warren spent his freshman season at Georgia Military College.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God and give all glory to Him,” said Warren at his signing ceremony. “When I went there (North Carolina State) it felt like home. Everything felt genuine. With the plan the coaches have for me, it all just clicked.”
Warren grew up in Belle Glade with his mother, Denisha Mashall, who graduated from Pahokee High School. His uncle, Randy Phillips played football with the Glades Central Raiders, before going on to play at the University of Miami and Detroit Lions.
Warren finished his high school career with 10 sacks, 66 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception. At Georgia Military, Warren notched 9 sacks in 10 games and collected 22 tackles off the edge.
He’ll join a North Carolina State squad coming off an 8-5 season. The Wolfpack closed out the year with big wins over Florida State University and North Carolina.
