BELLE GLADE — The Belle Glade Branch Library invites the community to come together for an evening of culture, creativity, and celebration during its Black History Month Open Mic Night, taking place Friday, Feb. 27 from 6–8 p.m. at the branch located at 725 NW 4th St. in Belle Glade.
This special after-hours event is free and open to the public and will spotlight the rich history, talent, and stories of residents from the Glades region. Guests can enjoy live entertainment from a DJ, refreshments, and a professional photographer who will capture keepsake photos of participants as they perform on stage.
Community members of all ages are invited to take the mic and share their gifts. Individuals and groups including singers, poets, dancers, musicians, spoken word artists, praise teams, choirs, and performers of all kinds are encouraged to participate and showcase their talents in a welcoming, supportive environment.
The evening is designed to provide a platform for creative expression while honoring the legacy, culture, and contributions of Black voices throughout the Glades. The event is part of the Palm Beach County Library System’s Black History Month programming and aims to celebrate local heritage while strengthening community connections.
