BELLE GLADE – A 20-year-old Davie man died and three people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in western Palm Beach County on Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the FHP report by FHP Trooper J. Terrell, crash investigator, and FHP Cpl. B. Derissier, homicide investigator, the accident occurred at 6:13 a.m.

Vehicle 1, a sedan driven by a 20-year-old Davie man and vehicle 2, a sedan driven by a 30-year-old Belle Glade man, were traveling northeast on County Road 880, with vehicle 1 following vehicle 2. Vehicle 3, a pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old Royal Palm Beach man, was traveling southeast on County Road 880.

Vehicle 2 slowed to negotiate a right hand turn at JW Turf Farms. Vehicle 1 failed to slow in time and the right front of vehicle 1 collided into the rear of vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 rotated in a clockwise rotation while traveling into the lane of travel of the oncoming pickup truck (vehicle 3).

Vehicle 1’s rear collided into the front of vehicle 3. Vehicle 1 then overturned onto it’s roof coming to a final rest on a grassy shoulder facing northeast. Vehicle 3 traveled in a westerly direction where Vehicle 3’s right side collided into a guard rail. Vehicle 03 came to a final rest at the third point of impact facing southeast.

The driver of vehicle 1, a 20-year-old Davie man, died in crash. Two passengers in vehicle 1, a 22-year-old Davie female, and a 25-year-old Davie man, sustained serious injuries.

The driver of vehicle 2, a 30-year-old Belle Glade man, was also seriously injured. A passenger in that vehicle, a 32-year-old Belle Glade man, sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck (vehicle 3), a 42-year-old Royal Palm Beach man, was not injured, according to the report.
