BELLE GLADE -- A South Bay man has been arrested in connection with the Nov. 7 shooting in Belle Glade.
On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 7, at 1:30 p.m. Palm Beach County deputies responded to a shooting in the 500 block of SE 4th Street, Belle Glade. Upon arrival deputies located a victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported to a local hospital. According to the PBSO, the shooting victim is expected to survive.
Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene to investigate further. Suspect information was obtained.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the suspect’s vehicle was located in Lake Park. A traffic stop was attempted. Two suspects fled towards Palm Beach Gardens where they stopped their vehicle in the vicinity of the Palm Beach Gardens Mall and fled on foot. Both suspects were quickly apprehended by a PBSO K9 unit. All involved are currently in custody. A weapon was located. No one was injured during the arrests.
Lejah Clinard Brown, of Southwest Seventh Avenue, South Bay was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, fleeing/eluding law enforcement with disregard for public safety and resisting arrest.
