OKEECHOBEE - A 70-year-old Okeechobee man driving an SUV was killed around 11:15 p.m. Friday night after the vehicle he was driving was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old Indiantown man. The victim was headed west on County Road 714, and the pickup truck was headed east, when for unknown reasons, the pickup truck traveled into the westbound lane and collided with the SUV. The SUV driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Martin County Fire Rescue. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
