COLLIER COUNTY — A Florida Highway Patrol press release stated at approximately 6:33 a.m. a SUV driven by a 40-year-old Immokalee man was traveling west on Immokalee Road.
At the same time a pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old Lehigh Acres man was traveling west on Immokalee Road, in front of the SUV. The SUV entered the eastbound lane of Immokalee Road in an attempt to pass the truck.
As the SUV attempted to re-enter the westbound lane, the right side of the SUV collided with the left side of truck.
The SUV traveled off the road, entered the northern grass shoulder and overturned coming to rest on the shoulder.
It was reported a 43-year-old man, of Immokalee, who was a passenger in the SUV succumbed to injuries sustained in the traffic crash. The driver and three other passengers of the SUV received minor injuries in the crash.
The driver and three passengers traveling in the truck didn’t receive injuries.
