Grant, 87, of Okeechobee, FL went home to be with his lord and saviour on December 9, 2022.
Grant was born in Cohoes, New York to Raymond James Cheney and Florence Hebert Cheney.
Grant was the beloved husband of Betsy Creath Cheney for 45 years; loving father of Lori Cheney Joyce (John Joyce deceased) and Lynn Cheney Love (deceased); adored grandfather of Denine Davis; cherished great grandfather of three great grandchildren and brother to John Cheney. He is also survived by his three stepchildren Dave Massey (Joanne Greet), Dale Massey (Cathy Goslee) and Doug Massey (Andrea Noble) and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Diane Cheney Smith and brother Raymond Cheney Jr.
Grant served in the U.S. Air Force and then in the U.S. Marines reserve. Grant was an avid fisherman which led him to live in Florida after retirement from General Electric Corporation. He enjoyed woodworking and general technical tinkering.
Services will be held on January 8, 2023 at 11:15am at the Okeechobee Presbyterian Church on Parrott Ave in Okeechobee, FL following the main Sunday service.
