HENDRY COUNTY -- A 79-year-old Belle Glade man was killed in an accident on U.S. 27 in Hendry County on Feb. 5, around 1 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.
Vehicle 1 (a sedan driven by a 79-year-old Belle Glade man) was westbound on US-27. Vehicle 2 (a pickup truck with trailer driven by a 65-yer-old Ochopee man) was eastbound on US 27, according to the FHP report.
Vehicle 1 turned left into the path of Vehicle 2, at the intersection of CR-835, the FHP report continues. The front of Vehicle 2 collided with the right side of Vehicle 1.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased on scene and E.M.S. transported a 65-year-old female passenger from that vehicle to St. Mary’s Hospital.
Vehicle 1 came to rest on the eastbound lanes of US 27.
Vehicle 2 came to rest on the right grass shoulder, south of the intersection.
The driver of the pickup truck and the passenger in the truck were not injured, according to the FHP report.
