Indian River County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a roll-over crash that landed in a canal with water in the 6700 block of 57th Street the morning of Saturday, July 23.
A single occupant was trapped in the vehicle, suspended upside down by her seatbelt. While deputies worked to extract her, the woman's face became submerged in water.
A deputy was able to cut the driver's seatbelt and pull her face from the water.
Indian River County Fire Rescue assisted and was able to load the woman onto a back board to be transported. She was airlifted to Lawnwood Trauma Center in stable condition.
