Just after 10:15 Tuesday morning, a farmworker bus carrying 60 passengers was involved in a crash with a semi-truck near the intersection of SR 29 and Oil Well Rd south of Immokalee. Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said that the bus was traveling south on SR 29 while slowing to turn onto Oil Well Rd when the semi-truck driver failed to notice the bus slowing down. The semi-truck driver swerved to avoid the collision but was unable to miss the bus. As the bus was turning it was struck by the semi-truck. According to FHP, while there were several minor injuries, the driver of the bus was the only patient transported to the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was cited for careless driving.
