Woman accused of biting and chasing ex-boyfriend

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — On Saturday, March 28, OCSO Deputy Chagnon responded to a complaint for a domestic progress at the 8000 block of US 441 Southeast.

The complainant told the deputy that his ex-girlfriend had thrown objects at him with the intent of striking him. He stated that she then bit him, leaving marks on his chest, and scratched him on his lower left thigh above the knee which also left visible red marks.

According to the arrest affidavit the complainant said he attempted to get away to de-escalate the situation, but the ex-girlfriend pursued him out to his vehicle.

The deputy observed distinctive red marks on the complainant’s upper right chest near the clavicle that indicated that he had been bitten and they were recorded with an agency-issued body camera for evidence.

The complainant also told Deputy Chagnon that he had grabbed the suspect to try and prevent her from throwing things at him and from injuring him.

The deputy then spoke with the accused, and she said that she had not been physical with the complainant inside the residence. She stated that it had been a verbal argument but that she had thrown things at him.

It is noted in the deputy’s narrative that the suspect changed her story several times before freely admitting to biting the complainant. According to her, she had bitten him because he had grabbed her.

The deputy observed several items that appeared out of place and things knocked over.

Based upon the totality of the circumstances the deputy placed the suspect under arrest and charged her with battery. Her bond was set at $500.
