Walmart’s FREE Grocery Pickup launch party was held on March 2, with Mayor David Lyons performing the ceremonial ribbon cutting, and the convenient service is now available. Walmart has their certified personal shoppers standing by, ready to select your items, and deliver them right to your vehicle.

Are you wondering how to use this new service? You will first need to set up an account at Walmart.com, or you can download the Grocery Pick Up app on your phone. It’s so quick and easy, you just need an email address to sign in. You will also need to put a credit or debit card number in your Walmart account. They do not accept cash at the pickup.

Once you’ve signed in, you click on the Grocery Pickup tab, and then type in your zip code which will then bring up your nearest Walmart store. Pick the LaBelle store, you’re ready to place your order.

To find a product, type in the name or a keyword at the top of the screen. For example, if you put in “orange juice” a variety of brands and sizes will appear, and you then click “add to cart” once you’ve chosen what you want. You can even choose how many pounds of produce or meat you want to buy. Sometimes items might be out of stock. If you click the allow substitutions arrow, the grocery shopper will simply find a replacement for it.

Once you have completed your shopping list it will ask you to choose a time to pick up. Just before it is time to pick up, you will receive an email telling you that your order is ready.

The Grocery Pickup bay is marked with bright orange signage, on the east side of our LaBelle Walmart. You simply pull into one of the reserved parking spots where a friendly worker will then come out to greet you. They bag everything up and bring them out in big bins. Once you have gone over your order with your personal shopper, they will charge your card then give you a printed copy of everything that was purchased.
