On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) became involved in an officer involved shooting after conducting a traffic stop on south State Road 29.

It is worth noting that HCSO administrative staff took over 150 calls from Miller. In a phone call to a HCSO road supervisor Miller stated, “you think you’re going to blow my brother away and I’m not going to settle the score?” In addition, Miller called the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners Administrative Offices, threatening their staff by stating that he was going to come to the location and shoot everyone, starting with the female staff member who had answered the phone.HCSO detectives along with FDLE ESU Ron Munoz, who assisted HCSO throughout the duration of the investigation, began looking into the calls. Detectives were able to identify the caller as 40-year-old Calvin Jerome Miller, later located in El Paso, Texas.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Miller and with the assistance of FDLE, they were able to determine the location of Miller in El Paso, Texas.
On Wednesday afternoon Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Capt. M. Rowan and Major Crimes Unit Detective Sgt. D. McNeil traveled to Texas. Cop will not be charged. They will find a way to justify it. It has to be an eye for an eye … A life for a life. Use the flock cameras for his address or place most frequent, wife, job kids school! Hunt like they hunt us.”
L.J. Davenport posted on Sept. 1, stating, “AN ITS STILL ‘AN FOR AN EYE” … Give out Hi Fives for their kill.”
Detectives were able to identify the Facebook user as 48-year-old, Larry Jerome Davenport Idlette, of Ft. Myers.
