TrophyCatch launches season 15 with new challenges and prizes

Posted

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) TrophyCatch program is celebrating 15 seasons of trophy bass, conservation and Florida anglers with the launch of season 15 on Oct. 1.

TrophyCatch brings anglers, fishing industry partners, and fisheries biologists together with a simple idea: catch, document and release Florida’s trophy bass. Anglers with approved catches weighing eight pounds or more earn recognition and rewards while providing FWC biologists with valuable information that supports trophy bass research and management.

For Season 15, TrophyCatch is going even bigger with special promotions:

The first angler to have an approved bass weighing 15 pounds or more during season 15 will earn a special prize package. These exceptionally large fish are among the rarest bass swimming in Florida waters and documenting them provides important information about the fish capable of reaching such extraordinary sizes.

TrophyCatch will also award the first angler to reach 15 approved catches during the season with another special prize package, giving anglers another reason to keep fishing, documenting and releasing trophy bass throughout this next season.

Special prize packages will feature gear and prizes from TrophyCatch partners, including AFTCO, Lowrance and Bajío.

“Season 15 is an opportunity to celebrate what anglers in Florida  have helped build through TrophyCatch while challenging them to help us learn even more,” said Summer Lindelien, Director of FWC’s TrophyCatch program. “Whether it’s your first 8-pound bass or a once-in-a-lifetime 15-pound giant, every approved catch adds to the story of Florida’s trophy bass fisheries.”

Season 15 runs Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. Anglers can participate by catching, documenting and releasing eligible bass and submitting their catches through the TrophyCatch Website.

This season, keep your scale ready – your next catch could make TrophyCatch history!
