In Loving Memory of Robert “Lee” Norman,Jr.
February 20, 1949 – July 8, 2026

Robert “Lee” Norman,Jr. 77, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Lee was a dedicated truck driver for 60 years, proudly known on the road by his trucker name "Peanut." He truly loved all things trucking and found great joy behind the wheel. Lee was also a veteran who honorably served in the United States Coast Guard.

Lee is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Norman; his children, Thomas Norman (Tammy), Kristina Gurganious, Racheal Moriniti (Jason), Robert Earnest (Allison), Christopher Earnest (Joyce), and Jennifer Earnest. He also leaves behind 14 beloved grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his sister, Mary Lou Parker, and his faithful companion, Lucky, who rarely left his side. Also, his first wife and friend Helen Cockerill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Norman and Thelma Norman, and his sister, Becky Melvin.

Lee found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors whenever he could. A talented woodworker, he took pride in creating things with his hands and leaving behind pieces that will be treasured for years to come. He appreciated a good old country song, especially Old Dirt Farmer by Levon Helm, and few things made him happier than sitting on his porch, enjoying a fine cigar, and watching the world go by.

Known for his unforgettable laugh and feisty spirit and his appreciation for the simple things in life will leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. A private family service will be held to honor Lee’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to 3HC Hope Hospice Kitty Askins Center Goldsboro, NC in Lee’s memory.
