Mary Goforth Lumpkin, 84, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Mc-Donough, GA. Born on May 2, 1942, Mary devoted her life to serving oth-ers, reflecting her deep commitment to her Christian faith. She was a bea-con of generosity and kindness, of-ten expressing her love through her delicious pecan pies, pound cakes, and chicken & dumplings, as well as through her steadfast prayers. Mary’s life was marked by her loving
relationships. She is survived by her children, Morgan Lumpkin (Lisa), Sarah Nell Griffis (Ed), and Carolynn Lones (Jonathan); her sister, Linda Enos (Jack); and her sister, Elizabeth Anne Goforth, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother and sister in laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Goforth; her hus-band, Eddie Lumpkin; her grandson, Caleb Dale Lumpkin; her brother, George Goforth, Jr.; and her sister, Carol Smith.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on July 18, 2026, at More 2 Life Church, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contri-butions may be made to the Preg-nancy Center of Okeechobee, an organization dear to Mary’s heart. Mary’s legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
