James Orval Mace

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Orval Mace, who left us peace-fully on February 26, 2026, in LaBelle, Florida. Born to the late James Harold and the late Nellie Hazel Hinkley Mace on November 13, 1940, in Columbus, Indiana, James lived a life characterized by kindness and loyalty, leaving a lasting im-pact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

James dedicated many years of his life to a successful career as an automotive mechanic, where his skill and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. His passion for his work was evident, and he approached each challenge with a steadfast commitment and a meticulous touch that exemplified his character.

James leaves behind his loving children;  Sarah Jimenez (late Jimmy Epperson), her sons; Russell Epperson, Dustin Epperson and Vinny Jimenez; James H. Mace and his daughter Hannah Mace, Sheila Mace (Ash Cobb), her daughter Patricia Henderson and son James P. Mace, late Daughter, Judy Hansen, her daughters, Jeannine Hansen, Nicole Hansen. James also leaves behind 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

James was not just a devoted family man; he possessed a generous spirit, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Harry Chapin Food Bank, honoring James’s commit-ment to caring for others. More information can be found at harrychapinfoodbank.org.

As we remember James, we celebrate a life well-lived life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and unwavering kindness that touched the hearts of many. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he influenced and cherished.

His family invites you to honor his memory and share in the celebration of his life. Celebration of James’ life was held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Venue at Mudge Ranch in LaBelle. Military honors were performed by the American Legion Post 130.

James’ cremation and service was entrusted with Akin-Davis Funeral Home – LaBelle.
