IMMOKALEE — Naples Illustrated has named Bob Spano, Vice President of Programs at Guadalupe Center, among “The Naples 100”, an annual recognition honoring Collier County’s most influential community and business leaders.

Spano joined Guadalupe Center after a distinguished 35-year career in education. The last 35 years of his career were with Collier County Public Schools, where he served as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Spano championed academic innovation, strengthened school communities, and helped students reach their full potential as an educator.

At Guadalupe Center, Spano oversees the organization’s core programs, including Early Childhood Education, After-school Tutoring & Summer Enrichment, R.I.S.E., and Tutor Corps. In this role, he ensures programs continue to evolve in response to the needs of students and families while upholding Guadalupe Center’s commitment to breaking cycles of poverty through educational excellence. Guadalupe Center serves more than 2,000 students annually, supporting long-term academic success and expanded opportunity for families in Immokalee.

“Bob is a steady, compassionate leader who always centers students in his work,” said Dawn Montecalvo, President and CEO of Guadalupe Center. “He builds trust, leads with intention, and brings people together around our mission. This recognition reflects the lasting impact he has made through education.”

With Spano’s leadership, Guadalupe Center’s programs help students progress from early learning through college. His work strengthens alignment and long-term outcomes, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to creating endless possibilities for children and families in Immokalee.

“It’s an honor to be recognized among so many incredible leaders who are making a difference,” Spano said. “I’ve been fortunate to spend my career supporting students and families. At Guadalupe Center, we see every day how education transforms lives, and I’m proud to be part of that mission.”

The Naples 100 is selected annually by Naples Illustrated and recognizes leaders across business, education, philanthropy and civic life who contribute to the strength and vitality of Collier County.
